Em Lee Reaves(they/them) is a professional performer, comedian, and experimental theater artist. A recent SF transplant from NYC, their work has been seen at La Mama, Dixon Place, Ontological Hysteric Theater (AD Richard Foreman), and Brooklyn Museum. They are an member for The Neo-Futurist, a current ensemble member of the SF Neo-Futurists, as well as Co-Artistic Director for The NY Neo-Futurists. As a company member for over 5 years, Em performed with all 3 companies in NY, Chicago, and San Francisco and took their work to the Bharat Rang Mahotsav Theater Festival in New Delhi India, Edinburgh Fringe, Adelaide Fringe, and Melbourne International Comedy Festival. They are a founding member and resident designer for the Baltimore/NY based Psychic Readings Theater Company, the spokesperson and creative consultant for the Webby Award-winning websiteOMGyes.com, a tour manager for the widely successful podcast Welcome To Nightvale, and a curator and co-manager of the Oakland based DIY arts space Oakland.Secret. Em has opened for Janeane Garofalo, Bob Odenkirk, John Hodgman, Paul F. Tompkins and even shared the stage with Michael Ian Black at SF Sketchfest. Em recently completed a 150 show run as the lead character, Velma, in the critically-acclaimed immersive theatrical experience The Speakeasy. They can be seen as Shorty in the world-premier play The Daughters at SF Playhouse, and soon to be Alison in Fun Home at NCTC.
